It was an incredibly inspiring event, seeing students not much older than me from Banting Robotics explaining their ice hockey goalkeeper robot, built from the remains of hockey sticks. After welcoming the Canadian students, we got to know each other a little, after which we explored our school campus in groups of three. After that, the foreign students participated in a tenth-grade history lesson. As the day was slowly coming to an end, we all held small presentations about our respective projects and the competitions we were or are going to take part in: the FLL (First Lego League) for our school’s 8th-grade robotics team, a physiotherapy project for Jugend Forscht from Leander and Peter, and last but certainly not least, the FIRST Robotics Canada competition and a self-built, programmed ice hockey goalkeeper for our Canadian students. To sum it all up, the day was an absolute blast, and I can only advise others to participate in these activities too!
Simon, year 8
